That, and I wonder if his allegiance to UNC was a distraction...

making him unfocused and ill-equiped to handle his job properly. Personally, I think he has many sleepless nights worrying about his days as a UNC AD.

He should have retired years ago, but his position of power helps UNC, thus why he has stayed so long IMO.

On the outside, his legacy will be knowing that he grew the ACC to 14.5 members (whether we like all the additions or not). On the inside (which we'll never hear), his legacy will be that he had a big hand in keeping UNC from receiving extremely harsh sanctions or even the death penalty.
